Pluto DC line
Your Pluto DC line runs where Pluto was setting on the western horizon at your birth. Astrologers read it as a line of all-consuming relationships: deep bonds and strong attraction, with questions of trust and control that tend to change both people.

What the Pluto DC line is
The Pluto DC line, also known as the Pluto Descendant line or Pluto setting line, links the places where Pluto was going down in the west as you were born. In a chart drawn for any spot on it, Pluto sits on the Descendant, the angle astrologers use for partners, close one-to-one relationships and the people you meet as equals or opponents. For the other three Pluto lines and how they compare, see the Pluto line page.
On the map it is a dashed curve. It mirrors your Pluto AC line: when Pluto was rising in one place it was setting in another, so the two curves frame each other. Toward the far north and far south, where Pluto stopped rising and setting, the two curves join, touching the MC line at one end and the IC line at the other.
What astrologers associate it with
The Descendant shows what you meet in other people, so Pluto here is read as Pluto arriving through others. Tradition describes partners, clients and rivals who are intense or powerful, and bonds that refuse to stay on the surface.
The core lesson astrologers attach to this line is shared power. Who decides, who trusts whom, what each person keeps back: those questions come up sooner here than elsewhere. Faced openly, the reading goes, they can make a bond more honest.
Love and relationships
This is the Pluto line most people look up for love. Astrologers describe strong attraction, a feeling of being deeply seen, and connections that seem hard to walk away from.
The caution is control and jealousy, on either side. Tradition advises clear agreements, open talk about trust, and judging a relationship by how it feels over months rather than in its first intense weeks. Next to the Venus DC line, which is read as affectionate and easy, the Pluto DC line is read as transforming and demanding.
Work and reputation
The Descendant also covers business partners, clients and the person across the negotiating table. Astrologers link this line with high-stakes collaborations: consulting, joint ventures, negotiation and work where you deal with strong personalities. You may attract powerful allies here, and powerful competition.
Tradition suggests agreeing roles clearly at the start.
Home and daily life
At home the Pluto DC theme often shows up in who you share space with. Living with a partner or housemates here is read as revealing: habits, boundaries and unspoken rules come into the open.

Visiting versus living there
On a visit, tradition reads this line as a place for meetings that leave a mark: a conversation you remember for years, a collaboration that begins on a trip, an encounter that makes you rethink what you want from people. Living here asks more. Over years, astrologers say, the Pluto DC line keeps relationships at the center of your growth, which can be rewarding or draining depending on the partnerships you build. The love search shows how this line compares with gentler options.
How close you need to be
Astrologers do not agree on one distance. A band of a few hundred kilometers is common, with the effect read as strongest close to the line. Because DC lines curve, the nearest point of the line is not always due east or west of a city; our map measures the distance along the Earth's surface and tells you the direction.
When it crosses other lines
A crossing marks a place where Pluto was setting at the same moment another planet was on an angle, and astrologers who use parans read that latitude all around the world. Your Pluto DC line crossing your Jupiter MC line is often read as powerful partners tied to your career; a crossing with your Moon IC line as intense bonds that come to feel like family.
Is the Pluto DC line good for marriage?
Astrologers read it as committed and intense rather than easy. No line decides whether a marriage works: that depends on the two people. The Pluto DC line describes relationships that go deep and ask for trust, which some couples find binding and others find heavy.
Will I meet my soulmate on my Pluto DC line?
No line can promise a meeting. Tradition says the people you meet near this line may feel unusually significant, which is why it is linked with fated-feeling attractions and connections that seem hard to walk away from. Astrologers advise judging a bond over months rather than in its first intense weeks. Read it as a theme, not a forecast.
Does the Pluto DC line mean toxic relationships?
Not in itself. The Pluto DC line highlights power and trust, so unhealthy patterns may be easier to spot here, and so may the strength to name them. Astrologers see that clarity as part of the line's value, and advise clear agreements and open talk about trust. If a relationship feels unsafe, trust that over any map.
Pluto DC vs Venus DC line?
Both are partnership lines. The Venus DC line is read as affection, ease and pleasure; the Pluto DC line as depth, intensity and change. Venus is often called the easy start and Pluto the bond that asks for trust. Many readings suggest Venus for gentleness and Pluto for relationships that refuse to stay on the surface.
