Birth details are computed in your browser

When you enter a birth date, time and place, every calculation (planet positions, lines, parans, local space, the relocation chart, best places) runs in your own browser. Your birth details are not sent to a server and are not stored by us. City search downloads a small list of place names from this site, picked by the first two letters you type, and searches it on your device, so the full place name you type is not sent either.

Share links

If you copy a share link, your birth details are written into the link itself, after the # sign. Browsers do not send that part of an address to websites, so opening the link does not hand the details to us or to the host. Anyone who has the link can read them, though, so share it only with people you trust.

Saved on this device

Nothing is saved unless you ask. If you choose "Save on this device", the browser keeps, in its local storage under the key acg.people:

• the label you give the chart (for example "Me")
• the birth date and time
• the birth place, with its coordinates and time zone
• how sure you are of the birth time, and the house system you chose

Up to 12 charts can be kept. To delete one, press the × next to its name in the saved list. To delete all of them, clear this site's data in your browser settings.

Open on Today

If you tick “Open my map on Today when I come back”, the browser keeps your birth date, time and place, how sure you are of the time and the house system in its local storage under the key acg.me, so the map can open on your lines next time. Untick the box to delete them.

Your places today

Places you add in the Today tab (up to 4) are kept under the key acg.places: the place name, its coordinates and its time zone. No birth details. Press the × next to a place to remove it.

This visit only

To save you typing on the next page, the birth details you last entered are kept in this browser tab's session storage under the key acg.session. The browser deletes them when you close the tab.

Preferences

The map also remembers your display choices under the key acg.prefs: which planets and line types are shown, the line method (in the sky or on the ecliptic) and the view (globe or flat map). It contains no birth details. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes it too.

Analytics

We use two tools to understand which pages are read and which features are used.

Cloudflare Web Analytics. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, and its Web Analytics counts visits without cookies and without storing anything on your device. It records basic, aggregated information such as the page visited, the referring website, the country, and the browser and device type. It does not build a profile of you and is not used for advertising.

Google Analytics 4. Google Analytics runs only after you accept it in the cookie banner; if you reject it or do nothing, it does not load. When it runs, it records things like the pages you visit, how you arrived (for example from a search engine), your general region, your device and browser type, and the time spent. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off. Your choice is remembered under the key acg.consent, and you can change it at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.

Neither tool receives your birth details: the map is calculated in your browser, and the birth details in a share link sit after the # sign, which browsers never send.

Advertising

This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners, as third-party vendors, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site and to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners show you ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices. Google explains how it uses information from sites that show its ads at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you are asked for consent before advertising cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time. If you decline, you may still see ads, but they are not personalized.

The ads never use your birth details or anything else you enter on this site: the map is calculated in your browser.

No accounts, no emails

There are no accounts, no sign-up, no newsletter and no forms that collect your email address.

Hosting logs

Like any website, Cloudflare, the company that hosts this site, may record technical request data, such as IP addresses, the page requested and the time, in its server logs, for security and to keep the service running. Those logs never contain your birth details.
