Jupiter IC line
Your Jupiter IC line runs where Jupiter lay underfoot, at the lowest point of the sky, when you were born. Astrologers read it as a generous home base: a roomy house, a welcoming family, faith or philosophy practiced privately, and a sense that your roots can spread wider.

What the Jupiter IC line is
The Jupiter IC line, also called the Jupiter Imum Coeli line or Jupiter nadir line, marks the places where Jupiter was on the meridian beneath the Earth at the minute you were born. There, Jupiter would sit at the bottom of your chart, the angle of home, family, roots and private life. It is the most inward of the four, all compared on the Jupiter line page.
On the map it is a dashed straight line from pole to pole, always exactly opposite your Jupiter MC line. Where one runs, the other runs half a world away in longitude.
What astrologers associate it with
Jupiter below the horizon is read as growth in private. Tradition pictures a home with room to spread out, a family that welcomes people in, and an inner life that grows: reading, study, belief, a personal philosophy worked out quietly.
It is the most inward of the four Jupiter lines. The opportunity it describes is not public recognition but a base that feels larger and more generous.
Home and daily life
This is the core of the line. Astrologers mention a roomy house or garden, a full table, guests who stay longer than planned, extended family nearby, and a household where learning is part of daily life. Many describe it as a line where you feel you belong.
The challenges are about scale: a house that fills up with people, possessions or projects, little privacy, or committing to more home than you need. Generosity at home is read as a gift that still needs limits.
Love and relationships
Love here is read through home and family: a partner who wants to build a household, merging families, a relationship rooted in shared values or faith. It is less about meeting someone new, which the Jupiter DC line speaks to, and more about growing a life together.
Work and reputation
The IC sits opposite the career angle, so public ambition is not the theme. Tradition links the line with working from home, family businesses, hospitality and teaching from home. Your growth may show more in your private life than in your job title.

Visiting versus living there
IC lines are read mainly through living. A visit may simply feel welcoming, and astrologers sometimes suggest a trip to a family homeland on this line as a way to reconnect with roots.
Living there is where the line is said to speak. Housing, work, family, visas and cost of living decide whether a place works; the map is one input among many. The best places for home page brings your home lines together.
How close you need to be
There is no single agreed distance; a few hundred kilometers either side is a common reading. With a straight IC line, only the east to west distance matters. If your birth time is approximate, set how sure you are on the map: it shades the zone where the line could fall, and clicking a city gives the exact kilometers.
When it crosses other lines
A straight IC line crosses curved AC and DC lines. Jupiter IC crossed by a Moon line is read as a deeply nurturing home; by Venus as comfort and beauty in a generous house; by Saturn as a home that grows through responsibility; by Uranus as an unconventional household that keeps changing.
Each crossing marks a paran latitude. Astrologers who use parans read the whole band around the world.
Is the Jupiter IC line good to live on?
Tradition reads it as one of the most generous home lines: room to grow, a welcoming household, guests and a sense of belonging. The caution is scale, such as a house that fills with people or projects, or more home than you need. It is symbolism, not a forecast; practical factors decide whether a place works.
Jupiter IC vs Venus IC line?
The Venus IC line is read as comfort, beauty and harmony at home. The Jupiter IC line is read as a bigger, more open home with room for family, guests and study. Many readings call Venus the pleasant home and Jupiter the generous one, and both are described as easy places to feel you belong.
Is the Jupiter IC line good for family?
Astrologers associate it with supportive family ties and a welcoming household, sometimes with extended family close by and a full table. Merging families and shared values are part of the reading too. The caution is little privacy when the house fills up. No line predicts family events; it describes symbolic emphasis only.
What if I grew up on my Jupiter IC line?
Then astrologers would read your childhood home as colored by Jupiter themes: generosity, space, learning or faith. Your natal chart shows the same thing, with Jupiter near the bottom of the chart. It is a way of describing a pattern, and many people read it as a sense that home was a place where the world felt larger.
